I always seem to forget about Thanksgiving until it’s too late to make it special. This happens for a few reasons… it’s so close to Halloween here in Canada that it gets a little overshadowed. October = Halloween.
October also = my birthday. Which always falls over Thanksgiving weekend, and lets be honest… as thankful as I am, I love my birthday. And I’m not a turkey fan- and it makes me sad that my birthday dinner is always lumped in with Thanksgiving dinner. So I’ve never paid much attention to the holiday. I think America’s Thanksgiving is far more timely (considering my wishes for a birthday weekend that my friends are all in town to celebrate with me).
But what a good holiday it is! Of course thanks giving is a way of life, but having a day dedicated to counting your blessings is such a good reminder; we have so much to be thankful for.
I’ve been saving cute Thanksgiving printables for a while now, promising myself that this year I would do the holiday justice. Well, this year it crept up on me again. Perhaps the babes have something to do with that?
