Free Printable New Home Card + Gift Basket Idea

Aug 06

I’ve handlettered this New Home (yay!) card to share with you as a free printable and put together an essential oil themed new home gift basket as a lovely gift for new home owners… or anyone really!

Free Printable (yay!) New Home Card and gift basket idea!

Know anyone moving this summer? It seems to be the time of the year! Today I’m excited to share this free printable (yay!) new home card with you and also a little gift basket idea. You can grab the hand lettered card down below and aaaall the details on what I’d love in a gift basket.

It’s been a couple years since I ordered my first essential oils and started using them occasionally in our home. They’re something I love to use now and not just to diffuse in my home (that’s what I started with) but in soaps and cleaners and candles. So today I wanted to put together a little gift idea for someone who’s moving that features some of my favourite EO products for anyone- even people who haven’t used them before. You could totally do just a couple of these things as well!

I chose these things because they’re all so good for home lovers. I’ve also read that one of the easiest ways to make a new place feel like home is with scents you love. The diffuser makes your home smell incredible and lifts your mood (depending what you put in there!), the candle burns with no toxins, that room spray helps you sleep and the soap helps fight sickness, which when you move is kind of a struggle (for me anyways!).

Beautiful ceramic diffuser with all the plants

Before I get into what’s in the basket, I wanted to give you a heads up that I’m doing a giveaway right now for a few of these products as part of my Blog Birthday Giveaways Week over on IG! It’s going to go up sometime today (tuesday!) and this sunset image is what you’ll see in my feed!

You might have noticed my ceramic diffuser in my home tours. I’ve always kept one on my kitchen counters, but I’ve just moved one into the living room and caught this shot of it at sunset last night- I love how the light changes in this room! Diffusers are an awesome place to start with EOs because there’s hardly any risk. I had teeny babies when I started diffusing and checked with my doctor first because I was so nervous about it. I started with all kid friendly EOs (I got this set to start!). But finding a pretty diffuser took me some time but I’m totally obsessed with this ombre one!

Olive tree in the kitchen with ceramic diffuser... how to decorate a kitchen!

You can see it here in my kitchen too! This picture’s from my summer home tour and I’ve moved it since… and my olive tree isn’t looking so good and I’m SO SAD ABOUT IT. But that’s not what this post is about. Although I’d be pretty thrilled if someone got me a new plant every time I moved ;P There’s also a small ceramic stone diffuser in there that you just drop some oils on and then hang it. I’ve been using this one in my office but when I get another plug in one, I think I’ll move this guy to a bathroom with eucalyptus scent.

Ok so where do I get my EOs? When I was considering starting with them a few years ago, I asked around to friends who use them and got a few different suggestions. I ended up going with Eden’s Garden which was highly recommended by my friend Lauren because of their quality, price, and their giving back program. I think I was sold when I read the reviews of their kid friendly oils because I really had no idea what was safe and not starting with this. They’re also not an MLM which isn’t a huge deal to me, but I know for some people that really is!  I’ve been using them since and reached out to them to see if they wanted to partner on this post and a little IG giveaway. I was so happy that they said yes.

Lavender Room Spray- so good for bedrooms!

What else is in there? A candle… because who doesn’t love a candle? I chose the French Lavender Sage Candle because I’m obsessed with that scent but there’s a few different ones and they’re all clean burning. I also got the room spray in the same scent since it’s helpful for sleep.

Last but not least, there’s a soap in here. I have been using their Charcoal Soap on my face for about a year and love it but that’s not really a ‘new home’ type thing. I thought a ‘Fighting Five’ bar soap would be so good to help fight germs/sickness since there’s usually so many people in your house helping move in (and very little sleep).

Oh! And the oils in there are just some of the ones I love to diffuse, but you could gift any that you like.

Alright… so that’s my gift idea! If you wanted to keep it affordable, you could go with the room spray and candle or the hanging ceramic stone diffuser and a favorite oil. Do you have any favorites I should try? I’d love to hear!

Free Printable (yay!) New Home Card and gift basket idea!

NOW! The printable card! I like to print this baby off on kraft paper but it looks amazing on regular white card stock as well. It’s a PDF download so it’s easy to print at home or at a copy centre.

The hallway is finally finished and I’m so stink The hallway is finally finished and I’m so stinking happy!

It’s felt like such a long time coming for such a small space. Since we moved in 2.5 years ago, this space has seen new doors and hardware, new trim, new floors... twice😅, we changed the boob light to a pot light and I hated it and now it’s got the most beautiful flush mount fixture I’m in love with (thanks @mymitzi!). It finally got some fresh paint and now frames on walls and last but not least... After this weekend, the new floors look like they were here all along (no door jamb gaps!) which was the last thing really bugging me since our flood last year.

All this to say that home takes time and sometimes getting it right might take a couple tries. Also- the spaces we don’t really think about (hallways) can totally help a house feel like home with some love (and family photos 🥰)
ps. I partnered with #mymitzi to create a tiktok for This makeover... are you following me over there yet?! I’d love if you popped over and said hi!
It’s done! It works! And I’m calling it a grea It’s done! It works! And I’m calling it a great use of my afternoon the other day. Did you catch the stories? These projects both cost me under $10 by using pieces I already had in my home (yay for scraps!) and one package of drawer slides).
You can find the full video about these two kitchen organization projects over on YouTube in collaboration with my friend @love_create_celebrate and her #scrapsmademodern challenge! But for now... I’m rejoicing this coffee maker is off my counter for good 🎉
How’s your January going? Full speed or are you How’s your January going? Full speed or are you taking it a bit slow too?

I’m not going to lie, I’m easing into this new year thing pretty slowly. All my decorations are still up (we always leave them up til Ukrainian Christmas which is later this week) and I I’ve yet to respond to my emails since before Christmas 😅
I’m enjoying the slowness of it all.

And yes, all of them use #Kreg tools to make them easy to assemble and quick to make! Plus, they’re having a great sale on right now with deals on their K4 and K5 jigs, Rip-Cut and even a hardware jig bundle! There’s never been a better time to get your workshop set up! #sponsored
