I’m so happy with how these paintings turned out you guys! They took me about ten minutes start to finish (plus set up and clean up) and they are the perfect pieces to fill these cool floating brass frames I snagged. I’ve been eying frames like these for what feels like forever. They have some that look so similar at Anthro, but shipping to Canada is insane and I just couldn’t justify it right now. Then I spotted them at Homesense and knew I couldn’t walk away. But I did. And then I went back. Because they’re that good.

These watercolor paintings are really so simple to make- I can’t tell you enough. If you can paint a straight line, you can paint these. Even if you’ve never used watercolor paints before, I’m confident you can pull it off. If you have NEVER used watercolors, maybe just play with them a bit to get a feel for how pigmented they are when mixed with different amounts of water. I’ve recorded the whole process and all my tips to make the duo happen! 

For the record, the paints I used for these pieces are: Prussian blue (I have both Studio 71 and Reeves and both are great, any one would be fine I’m sure) and Ivory Black. I used round brushes, size 6 and 9. I mention in the video that paper is really important- make sure you grab a watercolor specific paper so it will hold the water.
