It’s hard to believe that just one month ago, we met our little babes for the first time.
When we were sitting at the hospital a couple weeks ago, praying for Emmitt and Aubrey, that we could take them home and start our lives together, I realized that this time we have is really bonus. Even now, after a month, we still would be waiting to meet them had they not been early. Every day, Shane and I remind each other how blessed we are by them.
(This is them on a quilt that the NICU sent us home with… spoiled!)
This weekend my sister flew to town to meet E and A. It was so sweet to see her fall right into the role as ‘Cool Aunt Anita’, her self given title. She even took a night and did all the diaper changes to help us get some sleep… talk about ‘cool’.
We decided (as we often do) that we needed to get some photos to remember the occasion. She was planning to get some fall photos done anyways and what better timing for us to gt family photos but on their one month birthday! We’re so blessed that our Dad is an amazing photographer, which makes it easy to set up last minute sessions. (You can check out his blog about life here). I’ve got those on their way in the next week or so… I also hear that my maternity photos are on their way sometimes this week!
For now, here’s a photo from a shower my Aunt and Mom threw for me while my sister was here. I am thankful for four generations. I pray that like my Grandmother, I will live to meet my children’s children’s children!
What are you thankful for this weekend?
