In reply to Kara. Yes! I know, in my first post about making them over, I admitted I was a bit ashamed of it, but it's good to know where you can cut corners when you need to! It's definitely more frugal than having a custom cake made!

I’ve never thought about “making over” a grocery store cake, but really – it totally makes sense in some ways! I always find that there’s too much frosting on some of those cakes – the cake to icing ratio is always WAY off – so undressing it/redoing it slightly is a brilliant idea. Plus, you can make it “your own” for way less than it would cost to have a custom one made. Win win!

I used to LOVE jolly ranchers :) That cake is so pretty and no one would ever know it was a grocery store cake! Genius!
