Super idea as I drink my chai tea! I'm gonna try it with some deformed candles that don't like the hellifornia heat! I will reuse the wicks from the deformed candles instead of wasting them. I made candles years ago, I'm an older craft addicted person. But hate to waste, so I will have chai candle(s) now. Thank You for the great instruction in the micro too it's the only way I have to heat or cook at all. Made My Day with this fun project too!!

Hi Colleen,
Thanks for the worth-sharing article! This is very useful and awesome tips! For me, I love flameless candles or soy candles. What do you think of those candles?
Thanks.

Instead of putting the tea in water you could infuse it in a little bit of oil (oil in a double boiler and add tea and let infuse for at least 15 minutes) and add that to the candle.

Typically candle wax and water do not mix. I have tried in the past and failed :(. The only wax that mixes with water is an emulsifying wax and it is typically used for lotion making. Maybe try ground spices instead of just the tea bag or essential oils :) I love edens garden essential oils for all my homemade stuff! If you have not read from the blog humblebee & me it's amazing! I love her blogs. Also I just started a blog too about DIY living. It's called Going Green Girl if you are interested in natural DIY living :)

Yes, but not as much as the other wood candles I've bought. Also! Make sure to keep the balsa pieces fairly wide to avoid them burning out too quickly :)
