Valentines Pom Pom Garland

Feb 07

Spread some Valentines love with this quick and frugal pom pom garland. You could put this on your mantel, walls, doors, or even your office (yeah, your office)! And it would easily work for any holiday with different colours.

DIY Valentines Pom Pom Garland Growing up, we decorated for every holiday. It was so exciting to add special touches to the house (especially in the cold winter months after Christmas). Mostly, that meant window clings. Back in 1995- that rocked. Now, I’m looking for something fresh to dress up my house for the smaller holidays that has the same price tag as some good ol’ window clings.

DIY Valentines Pom Pom GarlandI picked up this twine to wrap up my DIY Valentines Table Topics for only a couple bucks at Target, and these pom poms came from there too for only a buck! That’s a price tag I can get on board with.

DIY Valentines Pom Pom GarlandI used some hot glue to affix the pom poms to the twine and pressed the twine into the pom (it buries the glue in the middle of the fluff so you don’t have big globs). I picked colours from the bag willy-nilly but you could do a pattern or all one colour too.

What do you think? Not bad for a couple bucks, if I do say so myself. Will you be adding some Valentine cheer to your home this year? I’d love to hear what you’ve got goin’ on!

Oh, just one word of warning. These things tangle like a hot damn… but this is cute too right?

When I first saw the pom poms I wasn’t too sure, but draped over your door this looks adorable!! I need to visit Target tonight and you’re right, perfect for the office! I still haven’t bought myself a glue gun yet though, do you recommend anywhere in particular for an affordable one? Or are they actually pretty cheap? haha

I think I have three glue guns because I keep ‘losing’ them and go buy another. In other words you can get them for cheap… I think my last one was $4 from Walmart and it works just fine!

So I went and bought five pom pom bags and a ball of yarn, but I never did get the glue gun! Oh well I still can’t wait to make these and show them off next year!

So adorable! And, a lot easier than using a needle and thread/string. I’ll have to try a glue gun next time. I think my glue gun is equivalent to a man’s duck tape.

SO much easier! What would a girl do without her glue gun?
