I also love painted cabinets and the black and white tile is something I have a soft spot for, but have not been able to incorporate into my homes.
Just a suggestion since you will have a laminate countertop in the kitchen. Be sure to put a large piece of quartz or granite on the counter alongside the stove so that if a hot pot has to be taken off it can be set on that instead of the laminate that will scar from a hot pot on it.
